1:50 Brighton – Pitch High 7/1

He ran a promising race on debut and then showed nothing next time out but I have the feeling that the ground may have been too firm for him that day so hopefully the rain that has recently fell over Brighton will help him out this time. He is quite a big horse so I would be a bit worried about him handling the track's unique lumps and bumps but he will qualify for a handicap rating after this and should progress with time.

1:50 Brighton - Bayston Hill 10/3

Bayston Hill runs in the seven furlong Nursery at Brighton and the Yard would be thinking that he has a decent chance of finally getting off the mark after running so consistently over the summer. He doesn’t want it too soft and the combination of the easy ground and going up to a mile provides the explanation for his below par performance at Salisbury in the middle of August.

He was bred and trained by Jim Bolger in Ireland, he has been gelded since arriving at Rowdown and today will be something of a learning curve with him. He goes along nicely at home. he will improve for today’s run.

2:35 Kempton – Born To Please 18/1

the Yard felt that she found the eighth furlong just a tad too far on her last visit to Kempton and she will be seen to better effect over a furlong shorter today. She has dropped six pounds and the Yard look to take another five off by claiming with a very competent and quite experienced lightweight Apprentice, Paddy Pilley. Paddy has ridden some 25 winners and the filly, with the Claim running off 51, could go really well at around 10 or 12 to One with a quarter the odds to finish in the first four; the Yard hope a repetition of what she achieved in a Nursery at Kempton at the beginning of August will produce the result!!
