Nigel
Twiston Davies
1.55 Doncaster Big Casino 16/1
Big Casino drops another 3lbs down in the handicap to
just 2lbs above his last winning mark of 119 at Stratford four outings ago.
This is back in a grade 4 event too, so may well herald a return to form. Willy
Twiston-Davies aboard and a good run expected.
★★★☆☆
2.30 Doncaster Woodfort 12/1
Woodfort won a Ffos Las bumper five outings ago and is
another who seemed to be getting the idea over timber last time with a
creditable 3rd of 9 at Taunton over 3m. 3f shorter today and again, improvement
expected. Willy rides.
★★★☆☆
2.30 Doncaster Novemberstorm 25/1
Novemberstorm ran well to be runner up on his bumper
debut four outings ago but last time out showed improved hurdles form with a
5th of 15 in a decent event at Doncaster. Needs to find some more but appears
to be heading in the right direction and improvement expected. Mr H F Nugent
aboard.
★★☆☆☆
2.50 Huntingdon Southport 25/1
Southport, to keep the theme going, is another who won
four outings ago but arguably ran his best race to date when runner up at Ffos
Las over 2m 4f from a mark of 120 two races ago. Over a similar trip And ground
today, he can show improvement and may have good each way chances at decent
odds. Sam Twiston-Davies aboard.
★★★☆☆
3.30 Doncaster West Torr 16/1
West Torr also won at Ffos Las four outings ago and
not gone so well since being handicapped at 126, but back down to 118 today
back up to 3m seems much more reasonable and he looks to have good each way
prospects. Willy in the saddle.
★★★☆☆
4.40 Doncaster Bring Back Charlie 11/2
Bring Back Charlie also won four outings
ago (!) off of 87 at Uttoxeter over 2m and went up 6lbs for that. Back today to
88 over a similar trip and ground will see him In much better light and he
looks to have a good chance here. Jamie Bargary takes off a further 3lbs.
★★★★☆
David Pipe
1.55 Doncaster Gary Charm 10/1
The drop back in trip should suit and he is not
without a chance and amateur rider Rex Dingle takes 7lbs off his back.
★★★☆☆
4.05 Doncaster Ramses De Teillee 7/1
I thought that he had a good chance under conditional
jockey David Noonan.
★★★★☆
4.30 Huntingdon Prospera Pascha 3/1
om Scudamore travels to Huntingdon for just
one ride and that is in the last at 4.30pm aboard David's newcomer in the
bumper; Prospera Pascha. She is having her first ever start on a
racecourse today and whatever she does, she will benefit from the experience.
★★★★☆
Ed Dunlop
4.15 Lingfield Global Revival 9/2
He has
run well the last twice and I hope he can give another good account of himself
this afternoon. He was beaten by a subsequent winner on his last start and in a
very competitive affair he has a small chance. African Beat looked a little
unlucky when finishing behind a filly that won a strong Kempton handicap last
night and the market has spoken in her favour more than once, suggesting she
shows plenty at home. Hochfeld is closely matched with African Beat on his
Maiden win and has had a short break since disappointing on his last start.
Oberyn steps up in class and distance but she knows how to win and there is
stamina on her dam’s side so she could well stay today’s trip. Mullarkey has
solid form at 7f but the step up to 10f is a big question mark whilst Olympic
Legend is entitled to improve from his comeback run and has a small chance if
he stays.
★★★☆☆
Harry Whittingham
4.05 Doncaster Charlemar 11/8
He ran well on his last start in the
Tolworth Hurdle, particularly as the testing ground proved to be against him.
He now switches back to a sounder surface on a left handed track, which
we know suits him very well. He has come out of Sandown in good form and
he’s ready to go again.
★★★★☆
Philip Hobbs
1.15 Huntingdon Shambougg 33/1
He was unlucky to fall at
Ludlow last time, where he ran out of room and we hope he has a bit more luck
today
★★★☆☆
