4.50 Hereford The Hollow Ginge 4/1
The Hollow Ginge is making his racecourse bow
in the 4.50, a 2m bumper, partnered by Willy Twiston-Davies. He's shown up well
at home and we've done well at this track since it re-opened. A good run
expected and the pair can go close.

1.30 Newcastle Outlaw Torn 7/1
Outlaw Torn did too much early in the race
last time out and all told didn’t run too badly, he hasn’t yet managed to run
to his best at Newcastle since the new Tapeta surface was installed, but it is
strange as he has a great record on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton and had won 3
times at Newcastle when it was still turf. We do think that this is more down
to circumstances rather than him disliking the track. Like with all Apprentice
races, a lot depends on how the jockeys handle their horses and Outlaw Torn is
a horse who can get strong with his riders and has been known to go too fast
early and leave little in the tank for the finish. If Jordan gets on well with
Outlaw, he has to have a reasonable each way chance today, the races today
whilst competitive, are full of regular competitors in this grade and a good
performance by Outlaw Torn somewhere near his best would probably have him
right there at the finish.

2.00 Newcastle Hydrant 8/1
A lot of similar things can be said about
Hydrant as we have said about Outlaw Torn earlier. He is another proven old
handicapper who often runs a race, he is another who just needs his jockey to
keep a lid on him early in the race so he saves a bit for the finish, and he
too is in good shape. It’s another moderate but competitive race, and like
Outlaw Torn he has to have a reasonable each way chance today. Neither of our
runners are ones to go mad on, but on their best form they both have claims in
there races and if they run near their best, neither should be too far away
when it matters.
