16/01/17 Straight From The Trainers Mouth

Ed Dunlop
1.50 Wolverhampton Magdalene Fox 7/2
Magdalene Fox has a much better draw than last time and I hope he can back up his win last time with another solid run. It is a competitive race with Scotch Myst looking one of the more likely dangers after improving lately for the step up to 6f. Oh Geno and Gentleman Giles are both closely matched too and most of the field have recent placed or winning form.
★★★☆
2.55 Wolverhampton Dutch Uncle 7/2
Dutch Uncle moves back up in grade in the 2:55 and I have applied a visor in the hope it will make him concentrate. He travels well in his races which suggests he can cope with this drop back in trip but it is a slight unknown. Mythical Madness has been very consistent of late and is proven over course and distance whilst Perfect Cracker is another dropping back in trip who needs to prove he can cope with this extended mile. Lacan has a lot of ability but he is returning from a break whilst on the opposite end of the scale Byres Road needs to back up a solid run on Saturday night. Supersta also ran on Saturday and he was slightly disappointing when fading late on. We are hopeful of a good run.
★★★★☆

David Pipe
1.25 Plumpton Work 16/1
She looked the likeliest winner on her debut at Ffos Las until unseating Tom Scudamore at the penultimate flight, although she was a little disappointing last time when fourth.  She should run well with a clear round but Bastien is a short price and will take a lot of beating.
★★★☆☆
1.40 Ayr Bella 13/8
she is genuine, will like the ground and looks to have a decent chance.
★★★★☆
2.45 Ayr Mango Cap 8/1
Mango Cap goes in the novices' handicap chase at 2.45pm - he is only 2lbs higher than when scoring over timber and he will also appreciate underfoot conditions and has solid claims.
★★★★☆
3.05 Plumpton Sweettoothtommy 5/1
Sweettoothtommy ran well when runner-up at Taunton last time out and a similar effort would see him go close in the staying handicap chase at 3.05pm
★★★★☆

Nick Alexander
1.10 Ayr Craiganboy 16/1
he took a heavy fall two starts ago and the mission tomorrow is to continue to rebuild his confidence,
★★☆☆☆
1.40 Ayr Little Glenshee 8/1
it seems odd running a horse I now regard as a 3 mile chaser in a 2 mile hurdle but she should relish the conditions and I felt it was worth a chance back in a hurdle against her own sex.
★★★☆☆
2.45 Ayr Calivigny 8/1
Calivigny has won twice round Ayr and was runner up here prior to disappointing at Kelso last time, he runs in the 2.45 with Lucy on board and 7 run, he’d be favourite if we hadn’t taken him to Kelso so hopefully he can put that behind him though I have no specific reason as to why he ran badly that day.
★★★★☆
3.15 Ayr The Bishop 20/1
I put his poor effort at the course last time down to being too soon after a big run at Hexham a fortnight previously, can’t put that excuse up tomorrow but it isn’t necessarily straightforward getting them back in the right frame of mind though all I can say is he seems fresh and well at home.
★★★☆☆

J W Mullins
2.00 Plumpton Alottarain 11/2
Dan Sansom on board, claiming a valuable 10 pounds, so we are quite hopeful for a place thereby providing more funds in the kitty for Members.
★★★☆☆
