11/01/17 Straight From The Trainers Mouth

Nigel Twiston-Davies
1.05 Taunton Woodfort 12/1
Woodfort won a bumper at Ffos Las in October and ran well in a couple of Cheltenham bumpers before finishing mid division on his hurdles debut over 2m at Ludlow last time. He takes a step up to 3m here, a big step, but we're hopeful it will bring out more in him. Tom Humphries rides and takes off 7lbs

1.20 Hereford Bring Back Charlie 4/1
Bring Back Charlie won nicely at Uttoxeter three outings ago over 2m and a mark of 87, but up 6lbs has finished in midfield twice since. Back to 90 today, Jamie Bargary takes off a further 3lbs. Up on trip to just short of 2m4f should suit and he looks to have solid each way chances.
★★★☆☆
2.10 Taunton Calett Mad 6/4
Bring Back Charlie won nicely at Uttoxeter three outings ago over 2m and a mark of 87, but up 6lbs has finished in midfield twice since. Back to 90 today, Jamie Bargary takes off a further 3lbs. Up on trip to just short of 2m4f should suit and he looks to have solid each way chances.
★★★★☆
7.45 Kempton Golden Jubilee 25/1
Golden Jubilee won at Newmarket in September over 10f from a mark of 73, probably a career best flat performance, but up 6lbs in four outings since has appeared restrictive at up to 12f. He tackles that trip today but gets back 3lbs. If at his best he could just surprise at long odds, Zak Baker rides.
★★★☆☆

Harry Whittington
3.20 Hereford Tutchec 7/1
He ran well on his last start at Southwell and is slowly creeping his way back into form.  He was beaten 11 lengths and if the field had gone a bit quicker he may well have played a part in the finish.  The handicapper has dropped him another 5lbs for the run and he’s been out hunting over the festive period which he seemed to really enjoy.  Hereford should suit him better than Southwell, hopefully he will take another step forward and get very competitive.
★★★★☆

Robert Buckler
1.05 Taunton Hoo Bally Diva 33/1
She wants the decent ground which Taunton has got and she is looking very well and has worked hard so we are hoping for a good show from her in what looks to be a hot maiden hurdle race.
★★★☆☆

David Pipe
1.05 Taunton Stay Out Of Court 9/4
He was second on heavy ground at Ffos Las last time, while he was also runner-up in an Irish point-to-point so he should stay this trip.  A similar level of form to his last start will give him every chance under Tom Scudamore.
★★★★☆
3.40 Taunton Tobacco Road 13/2
Tobacco Road was unseated last time but has some decent placed form including when runner-up at Towcester - a repeat of that would see him go close.
★★★★☆
3.40 Taunton Carqalin 25/1
Carqalin has shown flashes of ability although he looks as though he could still do with some help from the handicapper whose initial assessment was too high.
★★☆☆☆
