05/01/17 Straight From The Trainers Mouth

Julia Feilden
1.35 Southwell Limerick Lord 11/2
Limerick Lord has been running OK at the course recently without setting the world on fire. His best trip looks to be 7f but there aren't any races so we'll keep him to a mile, a distance he has won at before.
★★☆☆

Ed Dunlop
3.30 Wolverhampton Magdalene Fox 9/1
Magdalene Fox was disappointing last time and we have dropped him down to 6f for the first time in the 3:30. He has been drawn widest of all in stall nine which is unhelpful but hopefully he can show us more than he did last time. Little Nosegay would have a chance on his best form if he can break well from stall five but the biggest dangers are most likely to come from the unexposed Fully Focussed and Tranquil Daze.
★★★☆☆
4.00 Wolverhampton Ode To Paris 7/1
Ode To Paris makes his handicap debut over 7f in the 4:00. He is returning from a break and will improve for the run but I do hope he can show us he has some ability. He showed potential in his Maidens and if he can settle in the early stages he will have an each way chance. Dandy Flame has a solid third to his name last time out and is the deserved favourite. Party Tiger is mainly consistent and he was not disgraced behind a subsequent winner last time.
★★★☆☆

Mike De Kock (Meydan)
3:40 Saltarin Dubai 4/1
Saltarin Dubai (ARG), gives the evergreen Christophe Soumillon his first ride back for the team in 2017 in a Handicap over 1900m on dirt. He is rated 113, having won a Gr1 over 2000m in his home country last June. “There are times when the Argentine form works out pretty well, let’s hope it does so here,”
★★★★☆
4:50 Lindo Amor 12/1
On what they’ve shown in work so far, Lino Amor (ARG), is a bit better than Saltarin Dubai. He lines up with Soumillon aboard in the Gr2 Al Maktoum Challenge (Leg 1) over 1600m on dirt and Mike commented: “He’s a nice type of horse, Group 1 placed in Argentina and if he takes to the Dubai sand he will be a big runner.”
★★★★☆
5:25 Ertijaal 5/2
He’s well exposed, we know how good he is. He had fetlock surgery last year and he has recovered, his work is good but he will need the run.
★★★☆☆
5:25 Light The Lights 8/1
We’re looking forward to see Light The Lights in action. His work has been impressive and he looks the part
★★★★☆
5:25 Sanshaawes 12/1
He keeps giving of his best, he will be thereabouts again. He has been here long enough. He knows what to do
★★★☆☆
6:00 Anaerobio 11/1
He keeps giving of his best, he will be thereabouts again. He has been here long enough. He knows what to do (same comment as Sanshaawes)
★★★☆☆
6:00 Banaadeer 14/1
very well and in with a chance
★★★★☆
6:00 Mastermind 14/1
below his form of the last two seasons and needing the outing
★★☆☆☆
6:00 Whistle Stop 25/1
Is being prepared for a 2000m race and will be warming up in this seven-furlong contest.
★★★☆☆
