06/12/16 Straight From The Trainers Mouth

Mark Usher
11.50 Southwell All About The Pace 40/1
All About the Pace has dropped to a competitive mark and could well run much better than the big prices floating around.
★★☆☆
1.20 Southwell Marshall Aid 7/1
In the staying Handicap the Roger Varian trained High Command will be a short price to follow up his win in a similar race at Southwell a month ago and that does leave Marshall Aid on an attractive price and the Yard will be very hopeful of him running well or better this afternoon.
★★★★☆
1.40 Fontwell Pension Madness 100/1
There is something of a racing saying ‘that there is no such thing as an easy race’ (particularly when faced with actually winning it!!) and this is encapsulated by the make up of the pretty much ‘ordinary’ Juvenile Hurdle at Fontwell this afternoon where Pension Madness, with a best flat RPR of 61, takes on an Alan King person who has run to 92 on the flat and a Paul Nicholls French import and recent winner at Deauville. The Yard were quietly pleased with how Pension Madness ran at Exeter first time over hurdles and will look for some further improvement today but it would be reasonable to say that he faces a significant task this afternoon although going forward when he gains more experience he will be of interest in the right grade.
★★☆☆☆

Julia Feilden
11.50 Southwell Valley Lodge 40/1
Should be suited to the track's unique surface and I can't see the step up to a mile being a problem. We haven't seen the best of him yet and I hope the course can bring it out of him.
★★★☆☆
2.50 Southwell Limerick Lord 10/1
Limerick Lord is proven at the track and bounced back to form when second there last time. He will be racing in a higher grade than normal but I'm sure he'll run his usual honest race.
★★★☆☆

David Pipe
1.30 Uttoxeter Champers On Ice 2/5
Champers On Ice (pictured above) developed into one of the top staying novice hurdlers last season and he makes his eagerly awaited chasing debut this afternoon.  He has scared away most of the opposition (there are only two that line up against him) and he is a 2/5 shot - with a clear round he ought to win and he has schooled very well at home.  Let's hope he produces a good display.
★★★★★
3.30 Uttoxeter Mister Drifter 11/1
Mister Drifter makes his racecourse debut in the bumper - he works nicely at home but it is difficult to know what to expect owing to the lack of form to go on.
★★★☆☆

Nigel Twiston Davies
2.00 Uttoxeter- Florrie Boy 3/1
Goes for a quick double having won nicely in a good class race at Aintree on Saturday. He gets. 7lb penalty for that, up to 127, but over a similar trip and ground must have every chance of following up. Tom Humphries rides and takes off 10lbs.
★★★★☆
2.30 Uttoxeter - Double Court 6/1
Has achieved a good level of consistency of late winning at Newton Abbot on his 17th outing. Up 11lb and a further 3lb for a subsequent runners up slot, his 3rd over 3m at Towcester last time was a good effort. Looks to have at least a similar chance over the same trip and ground, a good run expected. Jamie Bargary rides.
★★★☆☆
