2.00 Newcastle Booshbash 11/4
The
likely favourite Dominating is a non runner and we are now the
current favourite. Looking at her opposition, Oxford Blu is highly
likely to improve for a step up in trip and has Luke Morris back on board and a
visor has been applied for the first time. La Vie En Rose is unexposed
along with Siyahamba but we are the horse to beat on the form book. Our filly
ran well at Kempton last time and everything we have seen so far suggests the
1m2f trip should not pose a problem. I decided to give her a break after her
last run with a view to bringing her back for a Winter campaign and while she
will improve again for what she does today, she seems well at home.

1.05 Plumpton Citrus 5/1
he had some fair form in bumpers in France and ran his
best race to date in this country last time when fourth at Exeter although he
would need to improve on that bare form to win this.
★★★☆☆
2.40 Plumpton Skylander 4/1
Skylander contests the amateur riders' handicap hurdle
and he did win over timber at Worcester in August. This is tougher but he
doesn't look badly treated on bits and pieces of form - Earls Court looks to be
the one they all have to beat.

3.20 Musselburgh Dutch Canyon 16/1
the outsider of the field no doubt after an
unenthusiastic display at Hexham 10 days ago, visor back on today and should
prefer this track and ground but definitely has questions to answer, I hope
he’ll run better than his odds suggest.

3:40 Plumpton – Count Meribel 14/1
He's had two bumpers to date back in April and May, finishing 5th on both
occasions, but staying on nicely and showing some promise. Sure to be better
for the experience, he can show improvement here and looks to be an each way
hope at decent odds, but we would hope for better.★★★☆☆

4.30 Newcastle Tellovoi 18/1
Tellovoi is one of those horses who it is impossible
to work out and he has good days and bad days at the track. He is a horse with
loads of ability, but equally can have plenty of attitude issues when he isn’t
in the mood. On his last run here at Newcastle he
ran a good race over 7f, leading for a long way before just being collared late
on and even though he finished 5th, he was only a length behind the winner. We
are dropping him back in trip again today and with Newcastle being quite a
stiff track, we are thinking that he may just have enough speed to stay
involved in the race, but with his little bit of extra stamina, we hope he may
just be able to keep going in the closing stages when other horses are running
on empty. We have said it many times that Tellovoi is not a horse who you can
have tremendous faith in as he is prone to throwing in poor runs with this good
runs, but if he consents to perform to a similar level to what he did last time
out, he would have a small each way chance today at a big price.
★★☆☆☆
5.30 Newcastle Lady Joanna Vassa 9/1
Lady Joanna Vassa ran her last week against some of
the opponents she faces again today, and she ran a good race, finishing a close
5th and only just behind Indian Pursuit & Sir Geoffrey. That was her best
run for a while, and she seems to have come back towards her best over the last
couple of weeks. If Lady Joanna can put in a similar effort to last week’s
performance, we see no reason why she could not reverse the positions with Indian
Pursuit and Sir Geoffrey this time. If she did, it would look to give her a
solid each way chance in this race today, and looking at the prices on offer,
she does look to provide a bit more value at around 9/1 than Indian Pursuit
(5/2) and Sir Geoffrey (5/1) offer.
