3:30 Nemmarket – Silver Line 28/1
This is the second time that Godolphin has booked me to ride. My debut
was last week on Secret Number in the Doonside Cup up at Ayr Gold Cup. That
went well, so I’m defending a 100 per cent record as one of the “boys in blue”!
A winner on his debut at Nottingham and placed in the Norfolk Stakes at Royal
Ascot, Silver Line is stepping into Group 1 company for the first time and I’m
thrilled to be taking the ride. Blue Point, the winner of the Irish
Thoroughbred Marketing Gimcrack Stakes on the Knavesmire, looks a deserved
favourite, I’d take being part of a 1-2 for his owner, Sheikh Mohammed.

4:10 Newmarket – Treasury Notes 16/1
I am delighted with my ride, Treasury Notes, after three wins in his
last four races. I believe the extra furlong will assist his cause

3:30 Newmarket – Mehmas 9/2
I will miss him when he goes as he has been
a real stable star this year. He has been ultra-consistent all year winning
both the Gr2 July Stakes and the Gr2 Richmond Stakes. His last start at the
Curragh finishing second in the Gr1 National Stakes was another great effort.
He is so tough and back down to his favoured distance I can see him running a
huge race tomorrow now back on level weights with Blue Point. He has always
been a stand out from the day I saw him at Newmarket and has been an absolute
pleasure to train
★★★★★
5:20 Newmarket – Oh This Is Us 14/1
Oh This Is Us has been great this year
winning four times and picking up some valuable prizes. He should be ideally
suited at the seven furlongs and has won at this track before. I can see him
running very well again.
★★★☆☆
5:20 Newmarket – War Whisper 12/1
War Whisper was unlucky last time but Sean
wasn’t hard on him when he didn’t get much luck. He will improve plenty for
that run and has worked exceptionally well since. He is there to run a big
race.
★★★★☆
3:20 Haydock – Barney Boy 14/1
Barney Roy is having his first start and
has always looked like being a very nice horse. He will improve plenty for the
run but I think he is capable of winning first up.
★★★★☆
2:45 Haydock – Rockshine 7/2
Rockshine is the sister to Light Up Our
World and ran very credibly first up at Ascot. With that experience under her
belt I can see her going very close here today.

Hugo
Palmer
He has his first start for me after being bought for 12,000gns out of Brian Meehan's yard in July, his best form to date coming in a third over 6f at Ripon in June. He is not very big but quite speedy and my job is to win a race with him.
★★★★★
14:20 Newmarket - Best Of Days 5/2
My concern going into the Acomb was that he was already more of a miler than a 7f horse at this stage of his career, as that is what his training, and breeding, was telling me. But he clearly improved a good deal on his impressive Sandown debut win with that close second at York, where things probably didn't go ideally in the race, in which he may have seen too much daylight and got mugged close home by a closer. We didn't make any secret before the race what we thought of him ability-wise, and hopefully the extra furlong here will see him in an even better light.
★★★★☆
14:45 Haydock – Fleabiscuit 9/4
She is a gorgeous High Chaparral filly. She is probably more of a filly for next season but she has certainly done nothing wrong at home in her work, and still holds an entry in the Fillies' Mile.
★★★★☆
15:30 Newmarket – Koropick 40/1
Was very impressive when winning on his debut at Thirsk and we stepped him up markedly in class to contest the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes at Kempton last time. He ran respectably to finish second there - it is a big step up from maiden to Group company, especially on the all-weather - but quite clearly this is another big step up in grade for him from Kempton.

2:05 Ripon – Ideal Bounty 16/1
My first ride of the day comes aboard Ideal Bounty in the
opening maiden He didn’t show too much on his debut at Pontefract back in August, but will hopefully have learnt a lot from that.
Await The Storm has his first start for Hugo Palmer and may be hard to beat.
★★☆☆☆
3:15 Ripon – Star Of The East 9/1
I rode Star Of The East when he won at Epsom two starts
back and he has a chance in the nursery if he returns to that level of form.He was a bit disappointing at Yarmouth last time, but every horse can have an off-day and I’m hoping he can put that behind him.
★★☆☆☆
3:50 Ripon – Kimberella 5/1
My best chance of a winner looks to be Kimberella for Dandy Nicholls in the feature sprint handicap.
He has been on the go all season and will be in his 13th start of the campaign when he lines up off top weight.
It looks a really competitive race but he was a fast-finishing fifth to Brando in last weekend’s Ayr Gold Cup and can race off a 1lb lower mark here.
This is the first time I have ridden him and I’m really looking forward to it.
★★★★☆
4:25 Ripon – Discreet Hero 15/2
Discreet Hero takes his chance in the sprint handicap and loves fast ground.
He wasn’t beaten far when last seen in action at Goodwood and is another racing from a 1lb lower mark.
Simon Crisford’s horses continue to run well and he is another ride I’m excited about.
★★★★☆
5:00 Ripon – Sennockian Star 10/1
My penultimate ride comes aboard old friend Sennockian Star in the mile-and-a-half handicap.
Remarkably - in his 68th career start - he is still only six-years-old. He holds no secrets from the handicapper and carries top weight here.
One thing in his favour is that he is lurking on a low mark if he is on a going day.
If he can repeat the form that saw him finish second at both Epsom and Kempton recently, he should go well.
★★★☆☆
5:35 Ripon – Blue Jean Baby 13/8
Lastly, I’m riding Blue Jean Baby for George Scott in the closing maiden.
She made a nice debut at Nottingham back in July when finishing third, but didn’t step up from that on the all-weather last month.
After a little break and back on grass, I’m hoping she is ready to fire again.

Newmarket - Douglas Macarthur 3/1
This
lacks a stand-out performer so plenty will be fancying their chances. There
really doesn't look to be a great deal between a few of those likely to be at
the top of the betting. Best Of Days could be suited by stepping up to a mile
after his Acomb second, Montataire looked an improved horse at Salisbury last
time, and Arcada beat Capri before finishing third to Churchill in the
Futurity. Good form, but they don't set too daunting a standard going into the
race.
Although you could throw a blanket over the first six home in the Doncaster maiden won by Glencadam Glory, The Anvil was stepping up on his debut effort in finishing third there, though he clearly needs to come on considerably again here. But plenty of Aidan's do. I ride Douglas Macarthur, though. He was impressive when winning his maiden by five lengths at Leopardstown and may have disappointed a few people when only third of five in a Group 3 last time. But that was still a fair step up from his maiden form, and if he comes forward again then he has a good a chance as any in here. It's a tough race to call.

Newmarket - Roly Poly 11/2
If
the Queen Mary version of Lady Aurelia turns up here, then the rest of us are
probably all playing for places. But she certainly wasn't as dominant when
winning the Morny over 6f last time, so maybe she is coming back to the field
in precocity and ability terms, and over the furlong-longer trip, too. However,
this track will suit her attacking style better than Deauville did last time
and I think the Morny was a pretty good race, too, for all that they ended up in
a bit of a heap at the line.
The Lowther is the obvious race to focus on if Lady Aurelia is to be beaten. Queen Kindly did it well at York and has plenty of scope for improvement but you have to remember that Roly Poly was only beaten ¾ length and was giving the winner 3lb, so my filly came out best at the weights. So I am surprised that my filly is twice her price, especially as she has made giant strides since her win in a Group 3 at the Curragh in June, and the quicker the ground the better for her. She is a typically tough, juvenile of Aidan's, improving as she gains experience.

Newmarket - Peace Envoy 8/1
This
looks a very good Middle Park. Blue Point is probably the right favourite on
his impressive Gimcrack win, but then again Mehmas beat him giving him 3lb in
the Richmond and he will be suited by the return to 6f after his second to
Churchill over 7f in Ireland last time. Then you have the improving Mutbasim,
and Mokarris looks like getting the fast ground he wants. But I think Aidan has
a very strong hand in there with Intelligence Cross and my mount Peace Envoy,
as they are both horses I rate.
Intelligence Cross bustled up Mehmas off levels in the July Stakes and got back on track after disappointing at Goodwood with a decisive win in a Group 3 at the Curragh last time. I have ridden Peace Envoy a few times this season and he just keeps on improving, with this third to Lady Aurelia in the Morny last time his best effort yet. If the ground gets even faster, it will probably suit Intelligence Cross more. It's another very tough 2yo race to call, with four of five possible winners.

Newmarket - GM Hopkins 25/1
He
is a pretty dependable type in these races, and it is simply a matter of
whether he is too high in the weights these days. He may well be but he looks
to have returned as good as ever this season, though - he wasn't ideally drawn
in the Hunt Cup, where the ground may have also been a bit too soft for him as
well - and he has run to form in Listed company on his last two starts over
1m2f. He finished sixth in this off a 3lb lower mark last season, so there are
no secrets from the handicapper, but he easily won the Silver Cambridgeshire
two years ago and tends to excel in these big-field handicaps and over this
1m1f trip.
★★☆☆☆

Newmarket - Blushing Rose 11/2
She
probably ran well at Newbury last week considering she pretty much pulled her
chance away. She was sixth, but only beaten 3 lengths, there, and maybe this
better ground will suit her, too. She had earlier looked good when beating a
subsequent winner at Kempton, and if she settles better here then I think she
may make her presence felt off a mark of 78. It's competitive, though.

Luke
Morris
I’m drawn in stall 32 between GM Hopkins and Educate so I have good horses around me and I always think the best draw ultimately is where the pace is. By the looks of it there is pace everywhere and the race is weaker for Firmament, Sacred Act and Eddystone Rock not running so that’s a positive for our chances. I think the course suits him perfectly and as it’s wide and open he should have space to run in, which he likes. He’s also run very well in the 2,000 Guineas at the course. The forecast is in his favour as he wants quick ground and he’s had loose ground on so many of his races this year which is not what he wants. If things go his way he is more than capable of winning this as he has a lot of class.
★★★☆☆
4.45 Newmarket – Harmonise 25/1
She’s run well in her maidens and has a nice racing weight for this contest. She takes on some progressive types but she’s not without a chance at all. I have happy memories of riding for these owners as I won the Prix de l’Abbaye on Gilt Edge Girl for them and this is the first time I’ve ridden for them since. I hope she has an each-way chance.
★★★☆☆
5.20 Newmarket – Barracuda Boy 16/1
The handicapper knows everything about him and he’s an exposed horse. At the same time he’s more than capable of being involved if he’s on a going day. A straight seven furlongs run at a good gallop will suit him down to the ground.

Nigel Twiston Davies
2.35 Market Rasen - Thunder Sheik 12/1
Won a couple of good handicaps last term, starting from a mark of 119. Up to 133 subsequently may have been a bit harsh, so 3lb respite here is welcome and should give him a chance here over an ideal trip and ground he's won on. Ryan Hatch takes off a further 3lbs and a good run is expected.
★★★☆☆
3.10 Market Rasen- Ballykan 7/1
Has won his last two races wearing cheek pieces and retains them here. He's gone from 130 to 141 for today but appears to be still improving and again, this trip looks ideal on ground he too has won on. Dark Jacob aboard, another good run expected.
★★★☆☆
3.45 Market Rasen - Muckle Roe 9/4
Won a handicap chase off of 109 six outings ago and went to 116, but is back down to 111 today, but has run into a few places inbetween. Could possibly do with softer ground, but has gone well on good, trip not a problem. Possibly the best chance today, amongst many, Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle.
★★★★☆
5.30 Market Rasen - Gulshanigans 12/1
Went well on his debut at Newbury in April despite his 9th of 14 finish, fading in the latter stages. The experience did him a world of good and he's come on across the summer, so improvement to come and should go very well. Sam rides.
