3:05 Newmarket – Nations Alexander 12/1
She will really appreciate the step back up
to the seven furlongs and this looks another nice opportunity to get some more
black type. She is in great form and having had a month between runs she should
be fresh and ready to go.

4:15 Newmarket – No Not Again 7/2
He ran green last time at Newbury but stuck
on nicely to hold on for third, with the necessary improvement I can see him
running a nice race.
★★★★☆
4:50 Newmarket – Sufi 8/1
He is a nice horse by Pivotal who should
come on plenty for the experience. He has been working ok at home and so we
will get a good guide on where we are at tomorrow.

13:55 Newmarket - Muffri' Ha 9/1
This is obviously a very competitive and deep
field for a fillies' Listed race, and I'd be one of many with a shot at winning
it, though Ashadihan and Promising Run look the two to beat on form. She looked
to find 1m2f too far at Sandown last time and reverts to the trip over which
she had earlier finished a good fourth at this level at Haydock. She could run
well and finish sixth here, but she was fourth in this race last year and has
an each-way chance, especially with her stable going so well.
★★★☆☆
14:30 Newmarket - Shall We 8/1
We have won this race a couple of times in recent years, and if Shall We returns to her best then she definitely an each-way chance. She has been given a good break after a very disappointing run on the July course a couple of months ago, where the ground was too quick for her. Although the form didn't work out that well, her three-length fifth in the Ribblesdale entitles her to respect in this grade. That said, it looks a very strong race for its type, with the likes of Journey and Beautiful Romance in the race - though that pair do carry penalties - but my filly could be competitive, especially if we get rain. The softer, the better for her.
★★★☆☆
15:05 Newmarket – Exmouth 5/1
We obviously all have Fair Eva to worry about but there are some decent and improving fillies in their own right in here, and Exmouth is certainly one of those. The bare form of her Yarmouth win may not amount to much in Group-race terms but there was a lot to like about the way in which she travelled and picked up after a slow start to get up close home there. The extra furlong will suit her and in fact I rode her dam, Havant, to win the Oh So Sharp Stakes here over this trip at two. She is in good order at home but, for all her potential, she clearly has an awful lot to find to trouble Fair Eva, and a fair bit with a couple of others in here as well.
★★★☆☆
15:40 Newmarket - Cougar Mountain 9/1
Only six runners but not a lot between them on official ratings. He was a little disappointing in a first-time visor at Doncaster recently, so his normal cheekpieces are back on here. He hasn't really delivered on his 2015 promise this season but he has run some good races in defeat in Group 3 company in Ireland, finishing a close second in two, and at his best he has the ability to go close here. There will be pace to aim at with Gifted Master in the race, too, and a lot of his better efforts have come in small fields.
★★★★☆
16:50 Newmarket - Via Serendipity 7/4
Didn't look to go on from his promising third in the Convivial when occupying the same placing at Yarmouth last time. But the bare form of that York run - maybe even the Yarmouth run, too - entitles him to go close here, and you would hope that there is more to come from this strong-traveller as he gains experience.
★★★★☆
17:55 Newmarket - Dawn Mirage 6/1
This will be the first time I have sat on him, but he certainly looks to be coming here in good form. He has gone up 4lb for his second to Quebee over this trip at Goodwood last time, but that is fair enough with the winner taking a Listed race at Sandown next time. Looks to hold as good a chance as most in here in what is obviously a competitive race.

14:30 Newmarket – Twitch 25/1
When Jim Crowley got off her after her debut here a couple of years ago, he said she would be a black-type filly. We were a bit disbelieving at the time, to be honest, but she has developed into exactly that with a string of good efforts in Listed and Group 3 company. She found the ground a bit too quick at York last time and she always seems to run well here, so let's see how she gets on. It looks a pretty strong Listed race.
★★★☆☆
15:40 Newmarket - Gifted Master 13/2
He always seems to run well here, and in fact he would probably be unbeaten at Newmarket had he behaved himself when second to Buratino last season. He is three-from-three here as a gelding though - he has that Buratino race to thank for that - and this is his first time back over a mile since winning the Group 3 Autumn Stakes in October. Despite the fact that he won twice over 6f earlier in the season, I have always thought of him as more a 7f/1m horse and he ran very well to finish third in the Lennox. The race probably came too soon for him on bad ground in France last time, and he is fresh and well after a break.
★★★★☆
16:15 Newmarket - Via Serependity 7/4
He has travelled well into both of his races, and then found less than expected. I don't know whether that is because he is still weak and immature, but we may try to ride him differently here. He is a horse we have always liked and he already has the form to be competitive, though obviously we also have the newcomers to contend with, too.
★★★☆☆
19:15 Newcastle – Tamayef 7/2
He is by Sir Prancealot - who, against all odds, is the leading first-season sire - out of a mare who won over 7f/1m for Hughie Morrison when I was there as an assistant. He is different to the other Sir Prancealot we had, Copper Knight, in that this colt is much bigger and rangier. He goes nicely at home and I'd be disappointed if he is too far away here.
★★★★☆
Julia Feilden
5:55 Newmarket – Silver Alliance 16/1
We never thought he would get a run in this historic race but hopefully he will get a place in its consolation race - the Silver Cambridgeshire. Prior to his time off, he had won his last two races and has been really perked up by wearing blinkers recently. This is a big step up in class but hopefully there's still some improvement left in the old boy.

3:05 Newmarket – Fair Eva 4/7
Fair Eva came out of The Lowther
in good form and has been training well. She was highly impressive on her first
two starts, slamming Nations Alexander and Miss Infinity on debut at Haydock in
June and then taking Group 3 at Ascot from a subsequent winner at that level.
We were disappointed at the time when she went down to a surprise defeat in the
Lowther at York latest but still showed a level of form again that clearly
makes her one to beat here and step up to 7f will suit her.
