Best Win Chance: 16:50 Doncaster - The Anvil 6/4
Best EW Chance: 3:05 Doncaster – Carnachy 22/1

Brian Meehan

3:40 Doncaster – Mutawakked 33/1
MUTAWAKKED runs in the Weatherbys Hamilton 2yo Stakes at Doncaster and Dane O’Neill rides.
He won a nice Newbury maiden last time out and deserves his place here. He is going very well at home and we are confident of a big run.
★★★★

4:25 Epsom – Pack It In 11/1
PACK IT IN runs at Epsom and Martin Dwyer rides him.
He has won twice this year and seems well at home, so we are hopefull of another competitive performance.
★★★☆☆

Roger Varian

3:40 Doncaster - Jumira Bridge 16/1
I think Jumira Bridge will be suited by the intermediate trip and his form so far stacks up well. He needs to improve again to be competitive, but he is a horse we like at home and I don’t think he looks out of place.
★★☆☆☆

4:15 Doncaster – Central Square 5/1
Central Square has impressed me with the progress he has made this season. His best form has come at ten furlongs, so it made sense to run him over that trip on a galloping track, and hopefully the blinkers will just help sharpen him up through the mid-part of the race.
★★★☆☆

Michael Bell

2:40 Epsom – Aid To Africa 16/1
AID TO AFRICA starts things off for us and he won well on his re-appearance at Chelmsford last time. He looks to have come on for the run and should hopefully give a good account of himself.
★★★☆☆

4:25 Epsom – The Major 14/1
He is desperately unlucky to still be a maiden and hopefully his turn will come sooner rather than later. He would not want the ground to dry up too much.

Hugo Palmer

3:40 Doncaster – Mazyoun 10/1
We have always thought a lot of him - he had a Middle Park entry but we took him out of the race on Tuesday - but he is a very big horse and he simply hasn't reached his potential just yet. He came forward from his promising Goodwood debut run to finish a good second to a newcomer at Newmarket last time and, as such a big horse, he will continue to progress with experience and time.
I don't think the downhill nature of the July course suited him last time, or the fast ground, but he very nearly won anyway in spite of those negatives. And if we would have won there, we would have definitely come here, so it makes sense to take our chance. We put the cheek pieces on here to sharpen him up and help him travel better, and I think the extra half a furlong, allied to this galloping track, will suit, as will good ground.
I think he is a fair bit better than he has shown so far, so we are more than happy to throw our hat into the ring in such a valuable race.

16:50 Doncaster – Hydroxide 3/1

The first thing to say about this maiden is that it could take a fair amount of winning, with Glencadam Glory and The Anvil both showing promise on their debuts, and newcomers Wolf Country and Okool carrying hefty yearling price tags. However, I suspect the race could revolve around how much the beautifully-bred Galileo colt, The Anvil, progresses from his debut at the Curragh.

We had to be greatly encouraged by Hydroxide's debut effort at Newmarket, though, where he did remarkably well to only be denied by a short-head by the winner and favourite, who had the benefit of a run, after showing obvious signs of inexperience and not being ideally positioned in the race after a slow start. In fact, he nearly came from last to first there after missing the break. We bought him at the Breeze Ups at Newmarket in April and backed off him afterwards, and we have given him plenty more time after that first day at school in July, too. I think the step up to 1m will suit, and hopefully this track will too. Hydroxide is a nice colt with plenty of improvement in him.

13:55 Doncaster - Glitter Girl 11/4

I rode her when she finished fifth on her debut over 6f at the July meeting, and she was clearly in need of the experience there. So it is no surprise that she has stepped up a fair bit since with wins over 7f at Thirsk and Catterick.

They may not have been the most competitive of races and you wouldn't say that a mark of 85 is overly-generous on the bare form but, as with most of these, she is lightly-raced and improving. And if her Rockfel entry is any guide, then maybe she has the ability to be winning this nursery off this mark.

Drying ground is probably a positive for her, and William couldn't have his horses in better form. But it's a very competitive race as you'd expect for a 40k prize.

15:40 Doncaster - Global Applause 8/1

I think you'd have to be worried about the trip for him, as I think his best form came over 5f on fast in the National Stakes, But he seemed to get 6f well enough when fourth in the Gimcrack - and the third, The Last Lion, won well at Kempton on Saturday - and this is quite clearly a drop in class.

If he does see out the trip well enough against lesser opposition, and stamina is relative to the company that you keep, then clearly he has as good a chance of any in here. The drier the better for him.

★★★★

16:15 Doncaster - Poet's Word 13/8

He disappointed us slightly when only fourth at Epsom in June but that turned out to be a very hot race, and he did what we hoped he would do when winning well at Goodwood last time. A 10lb rise for that victory seemed harsh enough at the time but I suppose the form has worked out well, with the third and fourth winning since.

Hopefully, there is more to come from him and he is up to winning this, but there will need to improvement for him to be winning off this revised mark. He is another of mine who would benefit from the ground drying up.

★★★★

16:50 Doncaster - The Anvil 6/4

He appeared to run a very promising first race when second to his stablemate Utah over 1m at the Curragh. His run-style there, and his pedigree, suggests that he will get much further next season but hopefully this galloping track should suit him.

There are a couple of similarly promising once-raced horses against him who finished second on their debuts, and a couple of very expensive newcomers too, so in many ways this is a guessing contest as to who comes out on top. Hopefully, it is me, but who knows?

Jamie Spencer

1:55 Doncaster – Island Vision 16/1
She was a little disappointing last time at Newcastle. She had looked an improving filly up until that run, and I don’t know whether it was the Tapeta surface or something else, but she didn’t run to the level we thought she’d run to. So it’s a back to the drawing board type of race. She’s been dropped a couple of pounds which all helps.
★★☆☆☆

3:05 Doncaster – Carnachy 22/1
It’s a big step up in distance having run over a mile and a quarter in a Group One last time. We always felt she’d stay well. Horses by Mastercraftsmen generally stay well. It’s a warm enough race with Abingdon and Simple Verse in there, but I thought she had a good each way chance. She wasn’t beaten very far in France last time and that was a Group One. This drop in grade and up in distance will suit, and the ground will be absolutely perfect for her. The ground rode just the slow side of good yesterday but it should be good by today. She’s got a definite chance and has a nice draw to boot.
★★★★

3:40 Doncaster – Firefright 33/1
He’s run a couple of nice races in maidens. I’m drawn in the right place next to Stormy Clouds, and Mubtasim is close by, so i’m drawn around the right horses. He’s stepping back in trip but they go a good pace in this race and there’s huge prize money up for grabs. I won the race last year and it would be nice to win it again, but I’m on a bit of an outsider.
★★☆☆☆

4:15 Doncaster – Bermondsey 7/2
He won nicely at Sandown and then went to Ascot where he over-raced the whole way and never relaxed. He went back to Sandown the other day on softish ground where he didn’t get the rub of the green so I thought he was better than the bare result. He’s up one pound for that but it shouldn’t stop him. He’s got a nice draw and the more conventional track at Doncaster will suit him well.
★★★☆☆

4:50 Doncaster – Never Surrender 40/1
Aidan O’Brien’s horse The Anvil looks the one for this. Never Surrender has shown promise in his two starts but will need to step up alot to be winning this. We’ll give it a go.
★★☆☆☆

Ralph Beckett

3:05 Doncaster – Pamona 20/1
If Pamona can replicate the form of her win at York in July, she will have a very good chance
