SOME GREAT CHANCES AND BIG PRICE EW CHANCES
I will add more if i get any tomorrow
I was pleased with him at Ayr and he must have a chance, even if he's now rated 104 and you've got to be a very nice horse to win one of these big handicaps off that kind of mark - let's hope he is because he will need to be. He's actually in the Champions Sprint at Ascot but we'll get this race out of the way first.
★★★★☆
He's gone up in the weights again and has plenty to carry here but we've got Adam [McNamara] on board to claim off him and I'll be disappointed if he doesn't run a big race.
★★★★☆
Hopefully he can break his maiden tag, but you never know who you’re taking on in races like this.
★★★☆☆
2:50 Newmarket – Gratzie 12/1
The mile handicap (2.50pm) is also wide open and I’m on Gratzie for Mick Channon. He ran twice in two days at Haydock last week, but did well to finish second on the Saturday.
There’s only a week’s gap but he takes his racing well and should have a fair each-way chance.
★★★☆☆
4:00 Newmarket – Arabian Queen 16/1
The big race of the day is the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes (4.00pm) and I’m hoping Arabian Queen is going to improve for her last run at Yarmouth.
I don’t think she was quite at her best that day and she should run better on Saturday.
It’s a Group 1 and she’s obviously taking on some decent fillies. Alice Springs is a worthy favourite, but she’s been a bit in and out.
The French fillies, Ervedya and Volta, could be even bigger dangers. They won’t be coming over ble sales race (4.35pm). I rode him at Yarmouth last time and got the feeling he’d improve for the here just for a day out.
I’m hopeful Arabian Queen can run a nice race.
★★★☆☆
4:35 Newmarket – Nibras Again 20/1
Nibras Again goes in the valua run. I sat on him the other day and he felt in good form.
To be honest, this looks like a pretty poor race for the money and let’s hope we pick up some of it.
★★☆☆☆
5:10 Newmarket – Lustrous 6/1
My final ride at Newmarket before rushing off to Wolverhampton is on Lustrous in the mile-and-a-half fillies’ handicap (5.10pm).
She’s been a little disappointing so far this season, but ran better last time back in handicap company. She has to carry top weight, but should be competitive at this level.
★★★☆☆
6:40 Wolverhampton – Suqoor 9/1
Suqoor hasn’t run here before, but he has some very smart form on the all-weather and definitely prefers it to turf. I think he can run a big race. I’m hoping my best chance of a winner at Wolverhampton is with my first ride
★★★★☆
9:10 Wolverhampton – The Greedy Boy 5/2
My final ride of a very busy day is The Greedy Boy for Mick Channon in the last (9.10pm). He’s another who hasn’t won yet, but this doesn’t look a great race and he should have a reasonable chance.
★★★★☆
Ryan Moore
13:45, Newmarket Pivoine 5/1
A mile is a good starting point for this colt who has plenty of stamina in his pedigree. His dam won over 1m5f and comes from an excellent middle-distance family. He has showed us a fair bit of ability at home and holds a Derby entry, but he is probably more of a three-year-old prospect and I imagine he will need the race here and as everyone knows we don't give the two-year-olds a hard race first time up. If they are good enough, great, and a few from the stable have been this season.
★★★☆☆
14:15, Newmarket Dutch Destiny 7/1
Her one poor run on turf has come on fast ground so any more rain wouldn't bother her one bit. Whether or not she needs it soft I am not sure - there was some rain here on Thursday morning - but she is in form and ran well in defeat off this mark at Hamilton last weekend, so she has each-way claims.
★★★☆☆
14:50, Newmarket Sharaakah 10/1
I haven't ridden her before but she clearly hasn't run a bad race all season and doesn't mind whatever the weather throws at her. She may not have gone on from her third in the Sandringham first time up as Ed may have liked but she certainly hasn't been running badly, and the handicapper has dropped her 3lb for a below-par run at York run last time. She is now only 1lb higher than for that Royal Ascot third, so she is weighted to go well at her best.
★★★☆☆
15:25, Newmarket Sagaciously 6/1
While she has form on soft, she has disappointed on it recently, including in France last time. But if it remains on the fast side, or simply decent ground, then you have to give her a fair shout, as she had looked progressive before that on a quick surface and her second to Chain Of Daisies in a Listed race at Salisbury reads pretty well and a mark of 102 is fair enough on that run.
★★★★☆
16:00, Newmarket Alice Springs 5/4
She was seriously impressive for me when beating Persuasive easily in the Matron Stakes last time. I know that some people think there was an advantage to coming wide and down the middle at Leopardstown - and there may have been - but she won in the manner of a top-class filly, regardless of any track bias or not.
There were excuses for her in France when disappointing the time before and that latest win was another big step forward from her Falmouth win, which was also decidedly useful. For all that I respect the opposition - the French fillies Volta and Ervedya have a chance at their best, and good South African mare Smart Call is said to be working well - I think she will take a lot of beating if in the same form as Leopardstown.
★★★★★
16:35, Newmarket Sea Shack 8/1
He has something to find on official marks but he looks to be going the right way at least. He may have been beaten at odds-on at Windsor but the horse that beat him went on to win a Newbury nursery for me next time and he showed a good attitude to win a 7f Goodwood maiden last time. Hopefully, he has a fair each-way chance.
★★★☆☆
Richard Hannon
2:00 Ascot – Black Cherry 16/1
She has run two of the best races of her life this year at Royal Ascot and Pontefract and if she is back to her best she could run very well here
★★★☆☆
3:40 Ascot – Burnt Sugar 25/1
Has been a very hard one to win with but did run well here in the Wokingham. He needs everything to go right for him if he is to figure here
★★☆☆☆
3:15 Redcar – Repton 7/1
REPTON was disappointing last time on softer going but back on top of the ground and after his solid form earlier in the year I hope he can figure here
★★★☆☆
I will add more if i get any tomorrow
Charlie Fellowes
2:00 Ascot –
Carolinae 66/1
She is a
filly I have always held in the highest regard and although this is a huge step
up in class, I would definitely not be running her in the race if I didn’t
think she was up to it
★★★☆☆
7:40
Wolverhampton – Mia Tesoro 9/2
Her
improvement has been astounding since she joined the yard and it would take a
brave person to bet against her at Wolverhampton on Saturday evening as she
seemed to win last time with plenty in hand
★★★★★
Charlie Longsdon
2:55 Fontwell
– Midnight Shot 5/2
He has been a
bit unlucky in the past, I expect him to go very well tomorrow.
★★★★★
5:15 Fontwell
– Tainted Rose 7/2
Tinted Rose should
run nicely in the bumper
★★★★☆
Richard Fahey
3:40 Ascot –
Growl 10/1
Growl is the
obvious one after he finished second in the Ayr Gold Cup last time and seven
furlongs didn't seem to be a problem when he tried it before in the Bunbury
Cup. He came out of the race in good form and this looked an obvious one to go
for.I was pleased with him at Ayr and he must have a chance, even if he's now rated 104 and you've got to be a very nice horse to win one of these big handicaps off that kind of mark - let's hope he is because he will need to be. He's actually in the Champions Sprint at Ascot but we'll get this race out of the way first.
★★★★☆
4:25 Redcar –
Dawn Mirage 7/1
Dawn
Mirage is one of two we run in the Pinnacle Cup Straight-Mile Series Final and he has
been an absolute credit to himself this year, running consistently well all
season. He has run two really good races at Goodwood and Newmarket on his last
couple of starts and you could argue that this is actually a step down in grade
from his last run as it doesn't look quite as hot. He's gone up in the weights again and has plenty to carry here but we've got Adam [McNamara] on board to claim off him and I'll be disappointed if he doesn't run a big race.
★★★★☆
4:25 Redcar –
Normandy King 9/1
Normandy
Knight likes this
track and is also capable of running a big race on his day. He's still
realistically-handicapped and is in decent form.
★★★☆☆
5:00 Redcar –
Theo’s Lolly 7/1
Theos Lolly might go well at a fair price in the Market Cross
Jewellers Handicap. I thought he'd go well at Ayr the other day
and he ran a decent race, but he wasn't as lucky with the draw as some of the
others. I also think this might just be his trip as the distance seemed to
stretch him last time. He travelled nicely though and I think he's in good
form.
★★★☆☆
Silvestre De Sousa
1:45
Newmarket – Never Surrender 2/1
My
first ride is on Never Surrender for Charlie Hills in the maiden (1.45pm).
He’s the most experienced in the field and was a close fourth at Doncaster last
time.Hopefully he can break his maiden tag, but you never know who you’re taking on in races like this.
★★★☆☆
2:50 Newmarket – Gratzie 12/1
The mile handicap (2.50pm) is also wide open and I’m on Gratzie for Mick Channon. He ran twice in two days at Haydock last week, but did well to finish second on the Saturday.
