30/11/16 Straight From The Trainers Mouth

Mark Usher
4.25 Kempton Leith Bridge 40/1
He has not run for almost eleven months and is still quite an immature horse in many respects so this evening, over a trip probably short of what he will need further into the Winter, will do him good on a number of fronts. He does, though, have ability which is why we have retained him and he could well prove competitively effective in similar races on the AW later on.

Nigel Twiston-Davies
1.20 Ffos Las- Gulshanigans 10/1
Was 3rd of 13 over today's course and distance last time out and looks sure to come on again for that. The good to soft going will be a first for him, but that may help and he looks to have good each way prospects again. Ryan Hatch in the saddle.
★★★☆☆
1.50 Ffos Las - Horseguardsparade 16/1
Is down 4lbs after his last outing at Towcester 3 weeks ago. That was over 2m and he goes back to 3m here. He's very versatile with trip though and has some good placed efforts up to 2m 4f in the book so he should go well stepped up. Ryan in the saddle.
★★☆☆☆
2.50 Ffos Las- Southport 9/4
Makes his handicap debut following two good runs so far over hurdles, winning at Market Rasen in October then runner up here in early November. Looks likely to show improvement too and could be on a very decent mark. A good run expected, Sam Twiston-Davies aboard.
★★★★☆

Ed Dunlop
6.25 Kempton Oceanus 20/1
He was very disappointing last time but the ground was much faster than the official description and he did not let himself down on it. We have freshened him up since and he appears to be thriving at home, I have put the cheek-pieces on to help him concentrate. It looks a competitive race and African Beat is the most unexposed horse in the race but he is drawn wide in thirteen. Wordsearch is progressing with every run and Habbad has suggested that this step up in trip would suit.
★★★☆☆

Malcom Jefferson
3.30 Catterick Helmsley Lad 100/30
A nice type he has been a little unlucky to have only ran the twice but he is maturing well and has strengthened up a lot for a summer break. Bumpers are difficult to rate with very little information to go on but he is well at home, will like the ground and despite being a big striding horse he is well balanced and should handle the track.
★★★★☆

David Pipe
1.50 Ffos Las Obistar 8/1
The more testing the conditions, the better for him as his best form has come on very heavy ground including when winning at this track and his long suit is definitely stamina. He is still 4lbs higher than his best winning mark but is consistent and has each-way claims once again under stable jockey Tom Scudamore.
★★★☆☆
