21st September 2016

Nigel Twiston Davies

2:55 Perth – Northansouth 2/1
Has a good handicap hurdle record with two wins from three from marks of 92 and 98 respectively and makes his chasing debut over the same 2m trip. Has gone well schooling and looks to have an obvious chance, Sam Twiston-Davies aboard.
★★★★
2:55 Perth – Sword Of The Lord 5/1
Sword Of The Lord is a versatile sort but yet to win over fences. On his hurdles form, he's well in here, so he too could have a good chance with Jamie Bargary taking off 5lbs.
★★★★
4:05 Perth – Kilronan High 5/1
Has been off for over four months and races from a good mark of 125 here, just 5lbs higher than her winning mark back in December. She's been thereabouts in her last three races and looks to have a good chance again here. Sam rides.
★★★★
4:40 Perth – Goodbye Dancer 5/1
Goodbye Dancer is perhaps on a more restrictive mark of 133,some 11lbs above his last win, but if at his best would also have a good chance. Sam aboard.
★★★★
4:40 Perth – Frontier Vic 3/1
Frontier Vic has won his last two races but up 7lbs here to 113 is on a career high. He goes well here over this trip and with Jamie taking off 5lbs, should again have every chance.
★★★★

Malcom Jefferson

2:20 Perth – Only Orvieto 4/1
Only Orvieto is also making her hurdle debut. She has schooled well at home and is working nicely. She was very green and also a little outpaced at Sedgefield when she won on her only start to date in a bumper. Tomorrow is a good starting point but she may need further in time.
★★★☆☆
4:40 Perth – Sun Cloud 6/1
Sun Cloud reverts to hurdles and usually needs his first race. He ran well in this last year with top weight but the handicapper has given him a chance and it seems a good place to start.
★★★☆☆
5:15 Perth – Four Mile Beach 7/1
Four Mile Beach needs to put a poor run behind him but he seems really well in himself at home and it may be he did a little too much in blinkers last time so we have left them off.
★★★☆☆

Mark Usher

9:10 Kempton – Misu Pete 20/1
He hasn’t been particularly easy to train but he is now back to a competitive mark and this, the Class Six 0-60s, is his grade; Oisin Murphy (who rode such a fine front running ride to get the fractions perfect on the The Graduate when Marmajuke Bay finished third at Haydock) is the latest of a very, very long line running back over five decades of Kingsclere Apprentices to develop into high class, intuitive pilots and Misu Pete and Oisin could well outrun the 16/1 that is currently freely available at a quarter the odds a place.
★★★☆☆

Roger Varian

3:45 Goodwood – Mount Logan 1/1
Mount Logan is versatile in terms of trip, but he was particularly impressive over ten furlongs at Doncaster so this race made plenty of sense, given he is a Listed winner without a penalty. We know he is well-suited by the course, he goes there in good form and he seems to have conditions in his favour.
★★★★★

Richard Hannon

2:00 Goodwood – Dick Tracy 9/4
He ran very well on debut at York and I would expect him to improve plenty for that. He is in great form at home and we are heading there with a solid chance.
★★★★
2:35 Goodwood – Admiralty Arch 4/1
His form was solid earlier on in the year but he hasn’t built on that the last twice. I need to see him do it here today.
★★★☆☆
6:10 Kempton – Al Mansor 13/2
AL MANSOR is in the only horse in there with experience. ‘I hope he can use that to his advantage. He ran a bit free the other day and so I hope he has learnt plenty from it.’
★★★☆☆
7:10 Kempton – Zebulon 15/2
He is more than capable of winning a maiden and was right there until getting tired late on the other day. I would expect him to go close today.
★★★★
