About The Novice Tipster And What I Provide

Welcome

Thank you for looking at my blogs

I would like to let you know a little about why and what I do here.

I started The Novice Tipster in January 2012. I have loved horse racing ever since I was small. As a child I used to look in the papers every morning and write down what horse I fancied in every race for that day. When I came home I would bring up Teletext (yes it was that long ago) and mark my results down. Every time I finished a book, I would go through every single page, write down how many winners/losers I had. My average was 20%-33%. I used to compare my stats with Templegate and I knew I was doing ok.

When I started my blog https://thenovicetipster.blogspot.co.uk I would put my selections down and compare them to Timeform and Templegate. The results spoke for themselves, I was smack bang in the middle.

As I gained more followers the way I did things changed to what I have today. I have listed everything below, and tried to explain it as well as possible.

Systems
My Systems must be the main thing I do, mainly on request from followers who cannot decide on a horse in a certain race.
I go through many stats, from going, distance, class, and even if they have raced each other before. I give them a score for the best ratings. Then once I have finished I add it all together and hope that I find the winner. I do need to advise that these systems are not my own opinion, they are based on stats only. These should be used as a guide. Most requests, the person will have an idea of who they like and would like to find out how they score.
Here is an idea of how my system layout looks

Stalls/Ratings/Going/Speed
This is another popular request. I will look at a race meeting and give the the best rated horse in 4 areas in every race on that card. Stall/Rating/Going and Speed. Obviously, there are sometimes no qualifiers. At the end I will put the horse with the best overall stats. Once again, these are based on stats and designed to give guidance only.

Main Tips
These will be any horses which really stand out for me. I do not post every day.

Tracker Horses
These will be posted if any come up. Tracker horses will be either my own opinion on how a horse has run which caught my eye. Or it could be some information I have on a horse. Hopefully these horses will go well and I only put horses in a think or hear should win

Stats
I will put up stats I think are important, ie In Form Trainers and Jockeys, or maybe a trainer who has won certain races or even a stallion who produces so many winners at a track or under certain conditions. Once again these are stats and not my opinion. It is for you to decide if the horse is worth following or not.

Permanent Systems
I have about 70 permanent systems, that look into many things, from favourites winning certain races, to trainers winning at certain tracks. Or a horse liking certain conditions. I do a popular post called Profitable Systems, where I only post up horses who qualify in systems that make a good profit. I have a P&L for this on request.

Straight From The Trainers Mouth
I have started a new blog http://straightfromthetrainersmouth.blogspot.co.uk which is going from strength to strength. I found lots of trainers like to say how their horses might go each day and I enjoyed following. I did find that I missed comments, so I ended up gathering them all together. I loved that trainers were honest about their runners for the day. So I decided to start this blog to help others. I also decided to star them, and soon found out that most 5* horses were winning and plenty big priced places. It also helps to know if a trainer doesn’t fancy his horse and it will be starred accordingly. ***NONE OF THESE ARE MY VIEWS, THEY ARE FROM PUBLIC WEBSITES, I JUST GATHER THEM AND PUT THEM IN ONE PLACE WITH A STAR RATING***, they are accessible to anyone to look up

I do hope this explains a little more about what I do.
